Update 10/28/13

Hello! こんにちは!

This page is dedicated 100% to rambling about all things ANIME! Yep, yep. I am one of those freaks. I will alert you before a paragraph if I am going to talk spoiler stuff. It will look like the warning above except it will say spoiler. Before I get into any deep discussions about anime. Let me tell you a little about my anime life.

I got into anime back in 1997 with a little show called Sailor Moon. I would watch Sailor Moon, Digimon, Pokemon, and Power Rangers religiously at my Grandma's house after I got home from school. I can even remember wishing I could be Serena (though looking back now I can't even begin to guess why I would want to be the whiny Rabbit Princess < if you don't get this, you clearly only know the American version of the series).  Any way, after I moved into middle school, I sort of forgot ALL about that part of my life because I was so obsessed with Harry Potter and writing (I still am mind you). It wasn't until eighth grade that some friends of mine tried to get me into reading manga and watching anime. So we would watch Toonami on the weekends at a friend's house. The only show I really tolerated watching was probably Inuyasha. So another several anime-less years went by until one day my best friend handed me a manga and said, "You really need to read this. You like vampires so much that I believe you would love this. It is all about vampires." If you know manga and anime, I am sure you know which series was handed to me. I read Volume 1 of Vampire Knight. It wouldn't be unit I started college that I picked up the series again, but I did in fact enjoy reading the dark romance. During my second year of college I was watching a video of Strawburry17's on YouTube when I noticed that she was watching Sailor Moon. Here I am feeling like a kid again, hop onto my laptop and look up an anime streaming site to watch Sailor Moon. I finished every season as quickly as possible. Unable to quench my sudden thirst for this world, I perused the page until I found something that sounded awfully familiar. A little anime called Vampire Knight. I began to watch the show online and fell instantly in love with the unfinished story of my high school life. Still not satisfied I found myself applying for a free trial of Netflix where I found a gala of anime. The first one I picked was Fruits Basket. Then I moved into ones like Rosario + Vampire, D. Gray-Man, and Chrome Shelled Regios. The rest is then history.

Now that I have bored you to death with that not-so-interesting story. Let's get into a very debatable and always changing list. My top ten favorite anime (of this current moment). I will even give a little reason why! Lucky you guys. You get to hear my rambling once more!

# 10: Karneval
- This is a new anime of 2013 that began streaming on Hulu thanks to Funimation. It was an instant favorite because it is so colorful and dark. Plus it has a great opening credit song by Granrodeo. Unfortunately for those who like to watch anime in English, there is no dub as of yet. However most Funimation streamed shows wind up with a dub if the demand is high enough. I don't care either way because personally getting to hear Mamoru Miyano be a goofball again is worth it. (If you don't know who Mamoru Miyano is look it up because he is in a LOT of great anime, he is actually in most of them on this list!) Anyhoo....this is definitely a top anime because it is so well put together. The reason it is so low on the list, is because it is only a 13-episode anime that could have gone on so much longer. *crossing my fingers for a second season*

#9: Sword Art Online
- I bet there are many people out there right now bitching me out for putting this anime so low on the list. I'm sorry. That is all I can say. It was really hard for me to put it here, but there are so many others that top this list that have elements that make them better. One factor that helped me make this decision is the feeling of incompleteness. There could be so much more they could do with this anime (like making an anime version of the visual novel continuations < visual novels are games that play out like a story). It would have made the story better. We shall see, it is a newer anime so they may have something up their sleeves.

#8: 07-Ghost
- Yep, a non-mainstream anime is on this list. I stumbled across this one because I was looking for an anime similar to D. Gray-Man and this was recommended. It is a dark anime that I really wish could have been continued alongside the manga. Though I could speak high praise about this anime, I will say that it is slightly flawed. It probably has something to do with the unfinished anime. Who knows. At least the manga has yet to disappoint too much.

#7: Pandora Hearts
- Absolutely love this anime. I actually sat and watched this entire anime in nearly one sitting. The only reason, and I truly mean only, this anime is at such a low spot is because of the fact that it does not follow the manga. I am VERY picky about things that don't follow the story line. It follows up until like the last five or so episodes and suddenly they change the story line completely. Oh well. At least it was great enough to make top ten.

This is where it starts to get really touchy and I had a hard time selecting which anime went where.

#6: Blue Exorcist
- This is a show that I just recently got into. I watched the entire Japanese dub in like a day. I absolutely loved it. I then went on to reading the manga, which made me fall even harder for it. Then they announced that they finished an English dub of the anime. That made me fall harder! Not only do they have a great cast, i.e. Bryce Papenbrook and Johnny Yong Bosch, I mean come on it's Johnny effing Yong Bosch! This anime without subtitles to read is a million times cooler. So far it is pretty secure in its number six spot, I don't think this series is going anywhere for a while. I can say though, I am highly excited to see the movie that was released recently. I can't decide which language I am going to watch it in. I am leaning towards English just because of Todd Haberkorn (who you will learn I have a huge love for). I will keep you posted on the movie issue.

WARNING MINOR SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT. MY TOP FIVE I JUST CAN'T KEEP COMPLETELY QUIET ABOUT. SORRY.

#5: Hakkenden
-This anime made its way into the number five spot regardless of the fact that it is a brand new anime series (Started 2012, Finished 2013). There is nothing that can deny this anime deserves its spot in the top five anime. Something that could push this anime into the top three would be an amazing ending to the series (by this I mean like a third season or even a movie I mean), and maybe even an awesome English dub. However it isn't just the actors that pull this amazing story together, it is the characters themselves. I really enjoy watching the different characters drawn together for a common cause. Plus there is a weird triangle going on between the main character and his best friend (who is split in two). So much goodness and it isn't even finished.

#4: Naruto Shippuden
- Yeah I bet I can tell what some are thinking. "Why is a big three anime only number four?" I will tell you it is because this show is still running. My top three are all anime that are finished (unfortunately) and this one is still going. Plus it may just stay here depending on how this war that the characters are in ends. Plus the emotional show is really hard to watch some times. I mean when you watch someone you absolutely love get killed, it hurts. Another note that I think should be thrown out there is that this is EXCLUSIVELY for Naruto Shippuden, I really do not like the original Naruto series and that could be purely because of the quality of the work. Let's hope that Naruto ends whenever it does on a good note.

#3: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Brotherhood has made top three where its original anime didn't even make top 10 purely for the fact that the anime stuck to the manga. Plus the character development was a million times better. With this anime it dove in depth into each of the characters and helped you better understand each one. Now like the one and two spots, FMA while guaranteed a top 10 spot is teetering on the edge of losing the number three spot. Shippuden which falls in number four may knock this completed series out of its seat. This series has one thing that Shippuden doesn't, Todd Haberkorn (okay so he might be in it at some point as like a movie perhaps, the third Shippuden movie to be exact, but who really watches Naruto in English < If you do I apologize for bashing the English dub, I just can't handle Naruto's English voice). Also another series that sounds awesome in either language.

#2: Bleach
- Here it is the big one. A big three anime in the top three. I will say this is the only big three that made it this high. One Piece just doesn't really do it for me. Any way back to Bleach. Bleach is an amazing anime. If I hadn't seen the number one first, this would be at the top of my list. It could very well find its way to that number one spot pending the ending of the series. The lengthy anime holds so much emotion and action. Tite Kubo really did start something amazing when he wrote the first chapter. Like with the number one, there are a few things that could secure this anime the number one spot. If the last few chapters of this anime go out with a bang and if they do a final season of the anime. I mean they are only a few volumes shy of completing the series in the anime. It would be awesome, plus they have the fan base. In the fact that the series is still continuing in the US and additional season from Japan would not hurt one bit. Another reason this series is neck and neck with the number one is because it sounds freaking amazing in Japanese and English.

- RANT TIME (WARNING SPOILERS OF THE LATEST CHAPTERS): So is anyone else pissed off that Ichigo has been in the Soul Kingdom for too long? I mean I get it, he's super powerful and needs to try out the new Zangetsu, but does that really warrant taking away the strongest fighter in the entire soul society away in the middle of war?? NO it doesn't. Plus if this war is almost coming to an end don't you think the Soul King would think "Hey let's send him back" in order to protect his people? At least in this new chapter that was released last week Ichigo made contact with Urahara, so we at least know he is alive. Now if only we could see him. Especially since with the newest revelation about Bankai and Hollows, which leads everyone (or at least me) to realize that Ichigo can still turn into a hollow. *screams like a fan girl* I have mad love for Hollow Ichigo. Anyway rant over, you probably are sick of listening to me now.

SPOILERS OVER KEEP READING

#1: D. Gray-Man
No surprise here, this was the fourth full anime I completed. (Sailor Moon, Vampire Knight, and Fruits Basket being the first three). D. Gray-Man has held this spot since I started watching anime. It took over Vampire Knight's spot when I finished the second stage of the anime, which would be seasons 3 and 4 of the anime. Of course it is just barely holding onto the spot because of Bleach which is my number 2. Luckily it is still holding strong. There are two things that will guarantee this spot for the anime. An English dub of the second stage and the most epic ending of the manga. That is a reason why Vampire Knight no longer holds a top ten spot, because of the grasping for straws ending of the manga. D. Gray-Man while it is highly religious holds some of my favorite elements of anime. Action, great characters, a good story line, a little romance, comedy, and great actors. This is the anime that had me falling in love with Todd Haberkorn's voice. Plus it sounds great in English and Japanese. It is really hard to find anime's that sound good in both languages.

Question Time!

1. What are your favorite anime?
2. Any recommendations?
3. What's a request you would like to see in my next page update?

Leave your comments below. I will certainly read them and incorporate them into the next post.

See ya soon!

Update 10/31/13

I'm back...with an update!

Happy Halloween everyone! Anime ramblings once again from me!

How have you all been this week? Seen anything new? I just re-watched Sword Art Online and Sukisho (the latter is a goody yaoi anime about a boy who lost his memory). Obviously towards the end of this update I will discuss this week's Naruto and Bleach. Maybe I should start a new page about anime spoilers. What do you guys think? Leave a comment below.

My recommendation of the week for anime (think I will do this weekly, what do you say?) Anyway...my recommendation is Blast of Tempest (yeah, don't judge the lateness of this recommendation it's just that the manga updated recently). Haha, talk about getting off track. Well one reason for my absolute adoration of this show is the ties to William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" and "The Tempest", but it also alludes to "Romeo and Juliet". The basic premise is about the death of Mahiro Fuwa's family, though it mainly revolves around his sister, and his hunt to find their killer. It is a drama filled with mystery and a hint (when I say hint I mean brushed upon) of romance. So I won't say too much about the story but it is highly recommended on my part.

On a different note:
I AM ADDICTED TO AMVs.

What is an AMV you ask? (Even if you didn't really ask, I'll still tell you) *winks* An AMV is an animated music video. So I love to watch them on YouTube and I have even gotten into making them (no, unfortunately I don't post them because I don't want to face legal issues with YouTube). My favorite ones are as follows.

Watched:
- Naruto "Courtesy Call" by Thousand Foot Krutch
- Multi-Anime "S.C.A.V.A." by Hollywood Undead [Get Up!]
- Multi-Anime "We're All To Blame" by Sum 41
- Blue Exorcist "Bones" by Young

Made:
- Fullmetal Alchemist "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons
- Bleach "S.C.A.V.A" by Hollywood Undead
- Naruto "Courtesy Call" by Thousand Foot Krutch (purely coincidental)
- Multi-Anime "Tonight I'm Watching You" by Meghan Camarena, Luke Conard, and Joey Graceffa

Multi-AMV are always fun to make and generally are made using whatever videos I happen to have. My favorites of this moment are Bleach, Naruto, Maid Sama, D. Gray-Man, Fruits Basket, Soul Eater, and Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~. I actually made a top three video of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Bleach, and D. Gray-Man. The songs I used were By Myself by Linkin Park, Busy Bein' Born by Middle Class Rut, and Again by Flyleaf respectively.

And there I went off again on yet another silly tangent.

Now where were we? Ah, yes.

Question Time:

1. What character would you cosplay as if you could?
2. I own several anime series on DVD (Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~, D. Gray-Man, Vampire Knight, Sailor Moon, etc.), what do you own?
3. If you could live in an anime world, which would it be and why?

(P.S. you can ask questions too)

WARNING! FROM THIS POINT FORWARD: SPOILER ALERT!!!

Naruto

First up is Naruto Chapter 653.

Naruto and Obito are talking about who Obito really is. Naruto explains who he sees: the boy who meant so much to Kakashi and Rin, the boy who wanted to become Hokage. He also notes the similarities between Obito and himself. Obito brushes him off claiming to be the Second Six Paths. Naruto disagrees and offers him his hand.

Obviously that isn't everything that happened but just a quick sum of what I saw as the premise. I'm not really sure what to expect as the outcome but hopefully it ends with the war ending in the Shinobi's favor.

Bleach

Bleach Chapter 555 is here. The moment we've all been waiting for! Ichigo is BACK!!

In the newest release from the master Tite Kubo, we are brought back to the Soul Kingdom where Squad Zero is preparing Ichigo for departure so he can rejoin the battle. Ichigo is dressed in some strange cloak and turban combination with his small Zangetsu attached to his hip and his large Zangetsu on his back. We also get verbal confirmation that he is stronger than ever. Another thing learned is a hint at how he gets angry and has to eat (not sure what this means or if it is some kind of inside joke we missed). Ichigo is last seen racing back to the Soul Society (kind of familiar huh? Racing to the fight between Aizen and the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. Racing to the fight between Aizen and Gin. Racing to the fight between the Soul Society and the Quincy round one).

Can we just scream a bit? SQUEE!! So if you wanna know my Bleach thoughts hop on over to my Bleach page.

Naruto Shippuden

Naruto Shippuden Episode 336.

Blah. This is the most boring arc of the Fourth War. Kabuto talks too much and is really annoying. I really can't wait for it to be over. I want to get back to Naruto and company. Can we just take a moment to appreciate Naruto Uzumaki?

OOPS! Wrong anime. ;) (Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East)

Much Better.

So unfortunately I don't have very many things to say about this silly, silly episode. *sighs* Maybe it's because I read the manga. We shall see.

Sorry for the boring ending.

Later!

Kat =^.^=

Update 11/6/13

I’m back with another update.

Sword Art Online, Blue Exorcist, and Betrayal Knows My Name. Yep. I am talking some good ones!

SAO airs weekly on Toonami; who watches it? * raises hand * I watched the original Japanese run and now I am watching the original English run. I love Bryce Papenbrook and Cherami Leigh in this. Wanna know what makes it better? * whispers * Todd Haberkorn is in it.

Yeah this guy.

Yum * winks * love his voice.

…sorry. I’m back now. Don’t you just love him?

Okay, focus Katrina! Haha, sorry guys. Anyhoo, SAO. I absolutely love this show. I am usually not a gamer because I get VERY aggressive, but I have no qualms about watching other people playing video games. (Smosh Games I am talking about you). So when I stumbled across this show I thought, ‘why not’? (Now don’t ask me how I can go from watching D. Gray-Man, Ouran High School Host Club, and Fruits Basket to this…) I watched every week. I was in love!! <3 Such a cute love story with A LOT of action. Plus you get two games in one story. AH!!

Anyway I watch this show every Saturday night (or Tuesday if I fall asleep early on Saturday < of course I record it). I was on board when they announced the English dub. Plus they cast BRYCE FREAKING PAPENBROOK as Kirito. I fel in love with his voice in Vampire Knight as Hanabusa Idol…I mean Aido.

TRIVIA TIME:
Which role of Cherami Leigh’s was it that I first heard her voice?
A.    Asuna – Sword Art Online
B.    Road – D. Gray-Man
C.    Ayano – Kaze no Stigma
D.   Kirmi – Ouran High School Host Club
E.    Mei Ren – Dance in the Vampire Bund

Answer in a few.

Another thing about Sword Art Online, it freaks me out but Stephanie Sheh is in it as the AI Yui. It only freaks me out because she is currently voicing the lovely Orihime Inoue of Bleach (NEVER miss an episode).

Hehe…sorry I get freaked out by the strangest things.

Speaking of Bryce…Blue Exorcist. But before I get into that awesomeness….

TRIVIA TIME:
Answer –
B. Road – D. Gray-Man

You’d think it would be Ouran which I finished before D. Gray-Man but I watched Ouran in Japanese (honestly I have only watched my fave episodes in English: Twins Fight and Haruhi in Wonderland).

FUN FACT:
Todd Haberkorn plays Hikari Hitachin and Kenichi Suzumura plays Hikari Hitachin in Japanese. While they play opposite each (not literally because Todd does English and Kenichi does Japanese…duh) in D. Gray-Man. Todd plays Allen Walker and Kenichi plays Lavi. I guess that is only fun to me.

ANOTHER FUN FACT:
Vic Mignogna who plays Tamaki Suoh also plays Zero and Ichiru Kiryuu in Vampire Knight coincidentally all three are also played by the amazing Mamoru Miyano in Japanese. Mamoru also plays Death the Kid, Kyrie, and Ling who are played by Todd Haberkorn in the English dubs. (Yep had to bring it full circle).

Okay…getting off topic with my crazy facts.

Back to Blue Exorcist.

I watched this show in one day. ‘nuff said. The reason I watched it was because I wanted a show similar to D. Gray-Man and 07-Ghost. Thus Blue Exorcist was recommended.

Blue Exorcist is about Rin Okumura who is the son of Satan and goes to school to become an Exorcist to avenge his foster father’s death at the hands of Satan.

Wait…what?!

You heard me right.

Rin – son of Satan – becomes Exorcist – seeks vengeance against Satan – who killed Rin’s foster father.

So Rin wants to kill his father to avenge his father…yeah I know but trust me it is really good.

Don’t believe me? Just give it one try: Japanese or English. That’s all I’m asking. It will be worth it.

What else can I say? How about…

Not only is Rin the son of Satan and possesses Satan’s powers he also has a younger twin brother Yukio who is played by the ever so lovely and wonderful Johnny Yong Bosch.

You don’t know Johnny?? For some Johnny is the one and only Ichigo Kurosaki. Or if you had a cool childhood (if you were old enough for this childhood) you will remember him as Adam the Black Ranger. You remember? You are awesome. Do not underestimate a Power Ranger.

Um…where was I?

Well anyway Blue Exorcist is coll. Go watch it!

Damn. I have rambled on so much I have almost forgotten Uraboku! (which also has Mamoru Miyano…see talented). Betrayal Knows My Name or Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru (Hell if I will remember that). Uraboku for short. Okay! Yup. This is a good’un.

Yuki is a boy with special powers who lives in an orphanage. He is a very pretty boy who is admired by man. His best friend is Kanata who grew up with him in the orphanage. He is almost hit by a car one day while trying to help a friend from school but is saved by a beautiful, almost inhuman looking man.

Okay are you as bored with this blah description as I am?

Good.

Yuki has special powers; he is the reincarnation of a female version of himself. Luke is a demon bound to Yuki by a contract as well as being the lover of Yuki’s past self. Kanata is the reincarnation of the bad guy and after a failed attempt to get Yuki on his side wants to kill him.

No yaoi. (Sorry fans. Unless some happens later in the manga you will be left frustrated).

Anyway, despite my bad summarizing, it is a really good show. I recommend it at least once.

So unlike last week, this week I will only cover Naruto (manga) and Bleach. I won’t be going over Naruto Shippuden.

Before we go into the spoiler section.

Question time:

I recently added up the manga I own to come to a grand total of 101, so obviously we will talk manga.

What is your favorite manga?
What was your first manga?
Who is your favorite mangaka?

Don’t forget you can throw questions back at me.

Warning this section contains spoilers. Read at your own risk. I am warning you now.

Ladies and gentlemen, * drum roll * THEY HAVE DONE IT!! The Shinobi have stopped Obito all thanks to Naruto being so badass!

All that’s left is Madara. Yet something doesn’t quite sit right with me. I think something is up. What do you all think?

This story ain’t over yet, that’s for sure. (Pardon my bad English there). Predictions?? What is up Mister Uchiha Madara’s sleeve? He holds some sort of ace. Does this ace involve Sauske? Does it involve Naruto? So many possibilities. PLUS Naruto needs to become Hokage. (Any Sauske fans out there? Sorry ‘bout this.) I can’t see Sauske becoming Hokage. His best friend deserves that spot. I mean sure he resurrected Orochimaru who in turn brought back the four Hokage but Naruto is winning a f***ing war!

Let me know what you think.

Bleach Chapter 556 People!!

Psych! I wanna talk seriously for a moment. What do you guys think of a second series for Bleach or a seventeenth season? How cool! I just started my little sister on watching the show (and she knows a lot of spoiler stuff from having seen later episodes and listening to me talk about the manga, so she knows stuff I never knew going in to it). Of course as she watches I do too and I have come to realize that Bleach needs to continue. We were just left with Ichigo saying “See You Soon” (at least according to Wikipedia). I don’t even think I would be satisfied with another movie or two. They need to follow along with the story line. Plus, I crave more Johnny Yong Bosch and Masakazu Morita who make it worth watching. * sigh *

Back to the chapter breakdown.

Tite Kubo is a tease. That is all I have to say about this chapter.

Okay so here’s what we’ve got. Back to Hirako’s fight as he is taken out by an explosion. Before another attack can hit him Komamura jumps into the fight. As E is about to attack again, Hinamori jumps in behind her to attack but Komamura stops her. E explains what her bombs are about and attacks Komamura taunting him. Smoke dissipates to reveal a change in Komamura. The captain of squad seven learned a secret of his race and has a more human appearance. There are a few wolf-like features seen, but for the most part he is human. The chapter ends with Komamura releasing his newly refined Bankai.

Yep. After reading that chapter I am more or less pissed with Tite Kubo. Like seriously?? Where the hell is Ichigo?? Does it take his ass that long to get to the Soul Society? Damn.

Whelp. Not sure what I can say about this one. Hope he hits us with a good one next week.

Okay that was it for this week. Leave some comments below on what you all think of this new chapter.

Until next time.

Adios!

Kat =^.^=

Update 11/12/13

I’m back again. So guys I have recently been thinking about all the anime I have been watching (added it up to equal like 92 total). Why do I keep re-watching anime I’ve already seen? I think I have found my answer, to spot moments of foreshadowing. Have you ever noticed that, all the foreshadowing in anime? Yeah, sure you can find stuff like that in American movies but the Japanese are great about it. Prime example: Bleach. Not only is there foreshadowing in the show but there is helluva lot of foreshadowing in the opening credits. The only ones I can think of that don’t do that are for the filler seasons. A good example is “Ranbu no Melody” by SID for episodes 292 to 316 for season 14. If you haven’t seen this already you must have just started watching Bleach. Toonami on Adult Swim is in season 15 already and the Japanese version is already finished (unfortunately). Anyway the season 14 opening hints at the loss of Ichigo’s soul reaper powers by taking certain moments and showing them from end to start. Yep. The last scene you see before Ichigo mouths something and the TV Tokyo clip is the butterfly flying across the screen like you see in episode one before they show Rukia for the first time. As I said previously I introduced my little sister to Bleach. Monday we watched two episodes of season two and there is a lot of foreshadowing in Aizen’s letter. It is such a huge hint at what is to happen during Rukia’s execution. I never trusted Aizen.

Well we are on the topic of anime villains…who is the best? I have many, many bad guys that catch my eye. Don’t believe me? Here’s my list.
  • -       Millennium Earl – D. Gray-Man
  • -       Souske Aizen – Bleach
  • -       Father – Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
  • -       Madara Uchiha – Naruto/Naruto Shippuden
  • -       Obito Uchiha – Naruto Shippuden
  • -       Akatsuki – Naruto/Naruto Shippuden
  • -       Homunculus – Fullmetal Alchemist/Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
  • -       Noah – D. Gray-Man
  • -       Xcution – Bleach
  • -       Quincy – Bleach
  • -       A – Bleach
  • -       Arrancar – Bleach
  • -       Light Yagami – Death Note
  • -       Satan – Blue Exorcist
  • -       Reiga – Uraboku
  • -       Mina Tepes – Dance in the Vampire Bund
  • -       Three Clans – Dance in the Vampire Bund
  • -       Ao – Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East
  • -       Ayanami/Verloren – 07-Ghost
  • -       Colorless King – K
  • -       Akihiko Kayaba – Sword Art Online
  • -       Uro – Karneval
  • -       Karoku Arumerita – Karneval
  • -       Orochimaru – Naruto/Naruto Shippuden
  • -       Sauske Uchiha – Naruto/Naruto Shippuden
  • -       Danzo – Naruto Shippuden
  • -       Sugou Nobuyuki – Sword Art Online
  • -       Kaname Kuran – Vampire Knight
  • -       Rido Kuran – Vampire Knight
  • -       Maria – Vampire Knight
  • -       Muramasa – Bleach
  • -       Jack Vessalius – Pandora Hearts
  • -       Drei/Cal – Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~
  • -       Free – Soul Eater
  • -       Aria – Hiiro no Kakera
  • -       Kurumi Tokisaki – Date a Live
  • -       Aika Fuwa – Blast of Tempest
  • -       Athena – Campione!
  • -       Creed – Black Cat
  • -       Cassa – Black Blood Brothers
  • -       Lea – Sands of Destruction
  • -       Kyrie – Sands of Destruction

I always love a good villain. I mean come on, who doesn’t love a bad guy that can keep you guessing and is on par with the protagonist

Here are a few favorites:
  • -       Souske Aizen from Bleach. He has been doing his shit for hundreds of years. Then he whoops the ass of the Gotei 13. It takes Ichigo handing him a good beating with one of his most powerful techniques (for now) to take his power level way down. Even now he is imprisoned because they can’t kill him. Plus he fooled the whole Gotei 13 exept Kisuke Urahara who always suspected him.
  • -       Obito Uchiha from Naruto Shippuden. I mean come on! Tobi is one of the best bad guys EVER!! I think I was more shocked with him than I was with Aizen. Tobi didn’t come into play until Chiyo and Sakura killed Sasori during Gaara’s rescue. He plays this dopy, goofy character then BAM suddenly the pitch of his voice changes and he becomes this badass (all this change takes place AFTER Nagato saved Konoha and kicked the bucket). He even convinces everyone that he is Madara Uchiha (one of the greatest Shinobi and founder of Konoha) until Edo Tensen brings the real Madara back during the Fourth War. It isn’t until he is fighting Kakashi that we learn he is really Obito who was supposed to have died during the Third War.
  • -       Light Yagami from Death Note. He is in my top five as a favorite main character. He is the protagonist AND the antagonist. Light is Kira, the international mass murderer who is killing people without having to leave his bedroom. On top of that he is an honors student in high school and college. Plus he became a detective for the police AND is the head of the Kira case. I mean seriously he is a womanizing, psychopathic genius! He plays everyone for a fool and winds up dead in the end after making a simple mistake. He left a trail straight to him. That is what he gets for “befriending” L. (Let’s be real though when I say Light I mean the sociopath from the anime not the dipshit from the movie who falls pray to L’s trap).
  • -       Akihiko Kayaba from Sword Art Online. This man was a genius. He created an entire world where the only way out was to beat the entire game. He killed thousands in a few hours. Not only that but he put himself in the game! He played obvious favorites with players (i.e. Kirito-kun). Even though he did all of this for a passing whim, he easily committed suicide. Now, now, don’t think this is the end of him. He saved himself in the hardware of his game. He was transferred to Alfheim Online without Sugou noticing. He again played favorites and still has control of these worlds.
  • -       Karoku Arumerita from Karneval. Some people may question this if only the anime has been watched but Karoku (not the one with Nai but the one with Uro) is one of the masterminds behind all the chaos. Unfortunately there isn’t a lot out right now because the manga is incomplete. This is a mystery I can’t wait to have solved.

There are many amazing villains but I won’t bore you forever with my ramblings about my thoughts.

I guess I will call this to a close for today.

Question Time:
-       What do you prefer, Anime or Manga?
-       Who is your favorite villain?
-       Which villain do you feel was developed best?

(P.S. Ask questions or recommend discussion topics)

So long to those who don’t want to continue reading. For everyone else…welcome to...

SPOILER SECTION: YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. SPOILERS ABOUT NARUTO AND BLEACH DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED. SERIOUSLY SPOILER ALERT!

Previously I praised Naruto up and down let me change that this time.

Can we all agree this guy…

…is effing awesome?

In this new chapter (655) of Naruto, Sauske runs ahead to finish off Obito despite the shouts of protest from his best friend. Before he can get too far, Kakashi reappears on the battlefield with a kunai against Obito’s throat apologizing for being late. Naruto tries to tell Kakashi that Obito is no longer the enemy but his words fall on deaf ears. Then Dad steps in. Minato catches Kakshi’s arm to stop the deathblow. He proceeds to say that it is a friends duty to talk down his friend (looking to Naruto for confirmation and Naruto looks at Sauske understanding what his dad is saying) and that everything is his (by his I mean Minato’s) fault for being a bad teacher and that Rin wouldn’t want this. Kakashi then tells Obito that he could have been like him because he lost Obito, Rin, and Minato consecutively. He chose the other path though because he could “faintly see something in the darkness”. When Obito questioned why he follows Naruto who could easily fail, Kakashi states that if Naruto trips he will help him back up; as this is going on Naruto and Sauske rush off to finish off Madara. The last thing seen is Naruto and two Shadow Clones creating a Rasengan Shuriken.

Okay this is probably one of my favorite updates. Naruto, Minato, and Kakashi made some pretty big declarations in this chapter (more so the latter of the three). I can definitely imagine Naruto becoming Rokudaime Hokage because of this. Naruto has the backing of the Sandaime, Yondaime, and Godaime Hokage. He has the Kazekage, Kakashi the Copy Ninja, a majority of Konoha Ninja, the Suna Ninja, the Jinchuriki, and pretty much everyone that has fought along side him.

As has been said he can easily make friends with a few spoken words. He is someone who makes you want to bet on him. He’s the future of all Shinobi. Even if he doesn’t become Hokage he will still go down as the greatest Shinobi of all time (and he’s still only a genin).

Okay…seriously though you’d think at SOME point they’d say ‘oh he can be a Chunin’ or ‘he is at Junin level’ at SOME point in this. He killed freaking Pain BY HIMSELF. The elite ninja of Konoha couldn’t even do that. I mean seriously?! When is enough, enough??

Anyway, can’t wait to see what comes next.

Bleach. Oh man. Chapter 557. This was the continuation of Komamura’s battle. He talked about how he is immortal as long as he is human. You are shown the hole in his chest where his heart once was. They flash to his grandfather in the cave with Komamura’s heart in a bag. I just think this whole thing is weird. I don’t know how to take it.

Still waiting patiently (not really) for Ichigo to return…again. I mean wasn’t a month (5 weeks, really) long enough of a wait for us? (Actually it was even longer before Kubo’s 5 week break). Ichigo! Oh well. I just hope that we get something cool for our patience…like a new anime.

Well that’s all I’ve gotta say. Catch the next update next week where I talk about my top five favorite main characters.

Later.

Auf Wiedersehen.

xx Kat =^-^=

P.S. My song of the moment is “Sakurabito” by SunSet Swish from Bleach, which is an end credit song for season 13.

Update 11/24/13

So I lied in my last post. My top five main characters talk will come next week. Sorry guys.

Forgive me with this.

Naruto and Sauske

A big question I bet you have about my big announcement is what will I talk about on my new show? Glad you asked. No I won’t talk about things like Naruto and Bleach chapters like I do here. I don’t want to post spoiler videos. I will do recommendations. So I will talk about anime I recommend. I will discuss my favorites and English versus Japanese anime. I will talk about new anime and “what’s hot” so I will hop on Twitter and see what is being talked about. Anime Games I want to play or I have played. Also Anime versus Manga as in which is better. It will sort of be like what I talk about here but more visual. This will hopefully be a weekly thing. I am coming up with my first ideas now. Might be able to post a teaser video within the next couple of weeks. I only have an intro video up on my channel now. I will also be posting my upload information on my Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram pages.

I will always post to one of those. So let’s go on with this update.

Out of pure boredom I began watching Naruto Shippuden again. Mostly my favorite scenes.

I really like the fights and realized what some of my favorite character fights are.
  • Naruto & Sakura vs. Kakashi
  • Naruto & Kakashi vs. Itachi
  • Sauske vs. Itachi
  • Naruto vs. Sauske
  • Sauske vs. Kakashi
  • Naruto vs. Kurama/Kyuubi
  • Naruto vs. Pain
  • Sauske vs. A
  • Sauske vs. Gaara
  • Gokage vs. Madara Uchiha
  • Naruto, Kakashi, & Guy vs. Obito & Madara Uchiha
  • Naruto, Sauske, & Sakura vs. Obito Uchiha
  • Naruto & Sauske vs. Ten Tails/Obito

Okay so there are a lot of them and none of the ones listed above are the from Naruto just Naruto Shippuden. I REALLY like these fights. (I know some of them haven’t been animated yet but they will be). I really think a personal favorite is Naruto vs. Sauske because Sauske looks like he doesn’t want to fight with Naruto but he is forced to because that is his mindset at the time. Stupid Uchiha. (Tobi, not Sauske).

So then favorite Shippuden characters.
  • Sauske Uchiha
  • Gaara
  • Naruto Uzumaki
  • Minato Namikaze
  • Kushina Uzumaki
  • Kakashi Hatake
  • Jiraya
  • Itachi Uchiha
  • Temari
  • Neji Hyuga
  • Tsunade
  • Sakura Haruno
  • Iruka

So this isn’t everyone but these are just the few that come to mind. The ones I wanted to definitely touch on are Gaara, Itachi, and Neji. Those three are the ones with the greatest character changes.

Gaara went from a nasty Jinchuriki to the Commander-in-Chief of the Shinobi Alliance.
Itachi went from a betrayer with the Akatsuki to an ally of Naruto.
Neji went from a spoiled brat to a war hero. (sad feels)
Okay…enough. I might start crying if I go on.

Um, this update might be a little short because I want to hold off on talking about Bleach until Naruto returns. Yeah you heard right. Naruto is on break this week. This being the holiday season, I won't talk about these two until the beginning of the year. So I am going to stock up on a whole bunch of goodies starting in 2014. That doesn’t mean these updates will quit. They will just lack spoilers.

For now, I suggest everyone goes and watches the newest episode of Naruto Shippuden “I Will Love You Always”. It’s a tearjerker so bring your box of tissues.

That’s all for today.

Have a great Turkey day!

xoxo
